For the principal employee or qualifying entrepreneur routes, the current framework requires the State Employment Support Agency right-to-work stage first. A person inside Georgia generally has 10 calendar days after that approval to start the IT residence application.
The official requirements refer to remuneration received during the previous year from IT work or economic activity, evidenced through at least two receipts at least 30 days apart. The evidence must connect the income to qualifying IT activity.
Qualifying family members of an IT residence holder can apply using the holder’s permit and authenticated relationship evidence. The principal route should be secured and sequencing confirmed first.
The statutory IT residence route is issued for three years. Continuing conditions matter, including the residence-presence requirement described in the governing rules.
The permit has a presence condition of at least 183 days in Georgia during a rolling 12-month period. Tax residence is a separate tax-law analysis even though day counts may overlap.
