Transport · food · medicine · emergencies · 2026

At 23:40, the city becomes a logistics problem.

Tbilisi does not close at 10 PM. It becomes address-specific. A metro timetable, a restaurant door, a “24/7” label and an airport landing time answer different questions. This guide connects them into a plan that still works when the easy option has gone home.

Late-night Tbilisi is a chain of small handoffs: last transport, pickup, delivery and return.

How to read late hours

“Open” is the beginning of the question.

A useful night guide separates three kinds of evidence. A public-transport timetable is scheduled. A restaurant kitchen, delivery radius or pharmacy branch is address-specific. Police, fire and ambulance help is an emergency service. Mixing those categories is how an old map listing becomes a missed ride or a long walk to a locked door.

The links below take you to current timetables, locators and service pages, but tonight's traffic, driver supply, stock, kitchen and building access can still change. Check the exact address and keep a simple fallback.

Three facts that change the night · checked 19 August 2026

The city has late services. It does not have one late schedule.

Municipal transport

Midnight is a boundary, not a citywide promise.

A March 2026 TTC notice describes Varketili returning to its normal 06:00–00:00 operation. Separate TTC notices extended metro or selected buses for specific events. The extension proves the exception: check the current notice and route rather than assuming a regular night network.

Check current TTC notices ↗
Airport arrivals

Bus 337 is not currently listed as overnight.

The airport's 5 August 2026 transportation page lists bus 337 at 06:59 and 22:59. It also lists a metered curbside taxi service as 24 hours. Plan from the time you leave Arrivals—not the scheduled landing—and recheck the airport page before travel.

Read the official airport page ↗
Address-specific service

“24/7” can disappear at the final screen.

Aversi's official locator includes a 24-hour filter. Wolt's current Tbilisi Market page labels several locations 24/7, yet also shows branches as pickup-only, opening later or temporarily offline. Enter the real address and confirm the cart, stock and delivery state before moving.

What has to work right now?

After dark, category lists are less useful than a chain of decisions. Each card opens a practical route: what current evidence supports, what commonly fails, and which fallback should already be ready.

At 21:45, almost any ordinary city guide will do. At 00:45, Tbilisi is a chain of handoffs: the train to a bus, a venue door to a pickup pin, an airport hall to a ride, an “open” shop to an address-specific cart. The city is still working. The margin for a lazy assumption is not.

The mistake is to search for a single list of places open late. A list ages the moment a branch changes hours. The stronger question is what kind of system you are trying to use. Scheduled transport has a published operating frame. Ride supply and delivery are live marketplaces. Pharmacies are branches with stock and professional limits. Electricity and water have account providers. Emergencies belong to 112.

This is separate from our Tbilisi Nightlife guide. Nightlife helps choose a scene, programme and door. After Dark begins when the practical city becomes the story: getting home, eating, finding medicine, handling an outage or reaching help. It is deliberately useful even if your late night began with a delayed flight, a sick child, a broken pipe or work rather than music.

Before 22:00: make the last ordinary decision

The cheapest late-night solution is often the decision made before the city becomes sparse. Charge the phone and power bank. Save the destination as a written address and a map pin. Put one payment card into the transport or ride app and keep another method separate. Download the building entry instructions. If the night involves medication, a baby, mobility equipment or an early flight, solve the predictable need while normal shops and public transport are still easy.

That is not advice to carry half an apartment. It is a request to notice the one failure that would be disproportionately difficult at 02:00. A visitor arriving at a self-check-in apartment needs the host's reachable number and door code. A group leaving a club needs a pickup point that can be described without “the other side of the bridge.” A parent needs the generic name and written dose on an existing medication, not only a familiar foreign brand box.

ScheduledTransport has a clock.

Use TTC notices, the real route and the time at your stop. A general “metro closes at midnight” sentence is not a last-train calculation.

Address-specificFood, delivery and pharmacy have a location.

Enter the destination first. Then confirm the branch, stock, kitchen, delivery radius and final checkout state.

UrgentDanger is not a customer-service problem.

Police, fire/rescue and ambulance emergencies go to 112. Do not wait for a website chat or a business to reply.

Keep the plan small enough to use. One official transport link, one ride app, one exact destination, one nearby late pharmacy found through its chain locator, the building contact and 112 are more valuable than twenty screenshots collected months ago.

Problem 01 · the public network near midnight

Read the timetable as a handover, not a dare

Current baseline evidenceTTC describes 06:00–00:00 as Varketili's normal operationFare evidence1 GEL gives 90 minutes on municipal transport under the standard tariffDo not assumeAll routes, entrances or last departures alignFallbackLeave margin and prepare an app ride before the cutoff

Midnight is not one moment everywhere

A TTC notice from March 2026 says Varketili station returned to its “usual mode” of 06:00 to 00:00. That is strong evidence for the system's normal operating frame, but it does not tell you the last useful train from every platform or whether maintenance, crowd control or a temporary entrance change affects tonight. Check TTC on the day and arrive with margin. Do not build a connection that succeeds only if every escalator, ticket gate and interchange is instantaneous.

Selected late extensions are announced as exceptions. For a June 2026 concert, TTC said the metro and ten named bus routes would work until 02:00. For Easter, it announced metro service until 04:00. Those notices are helpful because they are specific: date, reason, routes and new end time. They are not evidence of a routine weekend night service. If you cannot find a current notice for your date, do not borrow one from a previous event.

The standard TTC tariff page currently lists 1 GEL for 90 minutes of unlimited municipal travel, paid by MetroMoney or supported bank card, alongside day and longer passes. That makes an early connection economical, but fare validity does not extend operating hours. A bank-card tap also depends on the card working; keep the card used for entry available if the system needs it again.

Use a cutoff protocol

At 23:15, open the official route or live service rather than a saved journey. Check the exact station entrance, stop and direction. If the route has one fragile interchange, decide where you will switch to a ride before reaching it. At 23:40, treat uncertainty as the signal to use the fallback—not as a reason to run across an unfamiliar carriageway.

Night buses and marshrutkas must be checked route by route. A vehicle seen late once is not a published daily service. Temporary diversions around works, demonstrations or events can also move the useful stop. The current TTC homepage carries active service notices and its contact page lists a hotline; use those sources when the difference matters.

Problem 02 · the door-to-door city

A ride app solves distance, not the pickup

Current platformBolt lists ride service in TbilisiSafety toolsCar and plate details, location sharing and optional pickup codeDo not assumeInstant supply, a fixed fare or a correct building pinFallbackMove to a legal, lit, easily described curb

The pin is a negotiation with the street

Bolt's current Tbilisi page confirms its ride service operates in the city, and its Georgia rides page describes day-and-night availability. That does not promise a car in every district at every minute. Rain, a major event, a road closure and simultaneous club exits can lengthen the ETA or change the price while you are deciding. Read the live offer as an offer for that moment, not a city tariff.

Before requesting, stand where a car can actually stop. A pin placed on the middle of a bridge, behind a barrier or on the wrong carriageway creates a sequence of calls neither side can explain. Use the venue's official entrance or ask staff for the normal ride pickup. Add a short landmark only if it clarifies the curb. Do not step into traffic to preserve an inaccurate pin.

Match the registration plate, car make and model, and driver information in the app before entering. Bolt's current safety page describes location sharing and pickup codes, while noting that feature availability can vary by country. It also lets riders share the vehicle details and live trip with another person. Set up those tools before the night; a safety feature is less useful when the battery is at two percent and the car is already waiting.

Keep the ride inside the app

Current UK government guidance for Georgia recommends pre-booking through an app rather than flagging a street taxi and checking that seatbelts work. If a driver, plate or car does not match, do not let urgency turn the mismatch into consent. Cancel or report through the platform as appropriate and request again from a visible place.

A screenshot of the estimate is not a receipt and does not guarantee the next price. Confirm the destination before the car moves and retain the trip record. If there is immediate danger, use 112; an app support channel is not a replacement for emergency services.

Problem 03 · the flight lands before the passenger arrives

Plan from the Arrivals door, not the runway

Bus 337Official current timetable lists 06:59 and 22:59Bus stopIn front of the Arrivals hallOfficial curb taxiAirport page lists metered service 24 hoursDo not assumeA landing before 22:59 makes the bus usable

The airport clock has three delays

Tbilisi Airport's transportation page, dated 5 August 2026, lists route 337 between the airport and city centre with a timetable of 06:59 and 22:59. It places the stop in front of Arrivals and lists the municipal fare as 1 GEL with the 90-minute transfer conditions. Some older or third-party pages still describe the airport bus as overnight. The airport's current page is the source to trust and recheck.

A scheduled arrival at 22:10 is not a bus plan. The aircraft must reach the stand, passengers must disembark, border processing can queue and checked baggage can take time. Build the ground transfer from a conservative terminal-exit time. If missing 337 would create a serious problem, arrange the alternative before the flight rather than discovering it beside the stop.

The same official page lists a metered curbside airport taxi service as available 24 hours. An app ride or pre-booked transfer may also be possible, but pickup points and meeting instructions differ. Decide which channel you intend to use, save the booking or official operator information offline, and ignore unsolicited substitutions that move the agreement off the chosen channel.

Make the destination legible

Have the full accommodation address, host number, building entrance and late check-in instructions. “Old Tbilisi” is not a destination. A narrow street, one-way approach or pedestrianised section can place the car near—but not at—the door. If you are meeting someone, agree on a named point inside Arrivals rather than “outside.”

Airport Wi-Fi can help, but a transfer should not depend on creating an account, translating an address and adding a payment card after midnight. Install the app, confirm roaming or an eSIM, and tell the accommodation the realistic arrival window before departure.

Problem 04 · the room is open, the kitchen is not

Late food runs on the last order

Question to askWhat time is the kitchen's last order?Delivery truthYour entered address and final checkout stateDo not assumeBar hours equal food hoursFallbackEat the real meal earlier and save a nearby simple option

A closing time can describe the wrong service

A restaurant, hotel bar or club can remain open after its kitchen stops accepting orders. Search cards rarely explain whether “open until 02:00” means a full menu, a reduced night menu, drinks only or a private event. Ask one precise question: “What time is the kitchen's last order tonight?” If a particular dish matters, ask whether that menu is still served—not whether the venue is open.

Delivery platforms are useful live evidence because they test the destination against a current service area. Wolt's Georgia page currently covers food, groceries and other categories in Tbilisi, but the visible merchants and estimates change after an address is entered. A restaurant tile can exist while its kitchen is closed, temporarily paused, outside the radius or unable to accept another order. Continue to the final availability screen before promising dinner to anyone.

At 22:30, there may be plenty of choice. At 02:30, the objective often changes from a particular cuisine to food that can be obtained without an unsafe walk or an hour-long gamble. That is not a reason to accept an unexplained order or ignore allergens. It is a reason to make the choice while enough options remain.

Delivery still needs a handoff

A courier needs a working phone, a legible entrance, a place to stop and someone awake to answer. Save the building number, entrance and floor in a form that can be copied. If the pin lands on the rear of a block or inside a gated courtyard, explain the access before the courier arrives. Do not ask a courier to enter an unsafe or prohibited space because the pin is wrong.

For allergies or medically necessary dietary restrictions, a late app label is not enough evidence. Contact the kitchen or choose a packaged item with a label you can evaluate. This guide cannot verify cross-contact, ingredients or a kitchen's late shift.

Problem 05 · water, breakfast and household basics

A 24/7 label is a branch claim

Current exampleWolt labels several Tbilisi Market locations 24/7CounterexampleIts Gldani listing shows 08:00–01:00Do not assumePickup, delivery and walk-in are the same serviceFallbackConfirm the address-specific cart before travelling

The citywide brand is not the local door

At this check, Wolt's Tbilisi Market brand page labels Baratashvili, Tsintsadze, Marijani, Dighomi and Isani locations 24/7, while its Gldani listing shows 08:00–01:00. On the same page, individual entries can display “pickup only,” “opens at 08:00” or “temporarily offline.” The useful fact is not that one chain is always open. It is that availability is branch-, address- and moment-specific.

Delivery and a physical shop are different products. A virtual location may deliver without accepting walk-in customers. A pickup-only marker may appear even when delivery to your address is unavailable. A map may show a brand pin whose current branch hours differ from another branch two kilometres away. Confirm whether you are ordering, collecting or walking in before leaving the building.

For an apartment arrival, a small first-night list is enough: water if needed, breakfast, any infant or personal-care essential, and something compatible with the kitchen you actually have. Do not order raw ingredients for an induction hob without confirming the apartment has a pan. Do not assume tap, key, cooker or lift instructions will be obvious at 01:00.

Do not turn a minor need into a night walk

Current UK travel guidance notes that lighting away from main roads can be poor and pavements uneven. A late shop a few blocks away may involve broken surfaces, unlit steps, dogs, fast crossings or a steep return. Compare delivery, ride and walk as complete routes—not just distances. If the item can wait until morning, waiting is a valid solution.

Keep the order receipt and check substitutions. A “similar” product is not automatically suitable for allergies, babies, cleaning surfaces or electrical equipment. Reject a substitution that changes what matters rather than accepting it because the courier has arrived.

Problem 06 · medicine after the ordinary branches close

Find the branch, then solve the medicine question

Current toolAversi's official locator includes a 24-hour filterCurrent examplesAgmashenebeli, Varketili and Dighomi locations marked 24hrDo not assumeStock, prescription status or an equivalent productEmergencySerious or immediate danger belongs to 112

A lighted cross does not answer the clinical question

Aversi's official locator currently marks multiple Tbilisi branches as 24 hours. Examples visible on 19 August include Aversi 13 at 148 David Agmashenebeli Avenue, Aversi 43 on Khomleli Street near Varketili metro, and Aversi 57 in Dighomi Massive II block. They are useful geographic evidence that all-night branches exist. They are not a guarantee that a medicine is in stock, that a prescription is not required or that the named product is suitable.

Use the locator's 24-hour filter, open the individual branch and call the chain if the item matters. Ask using the generic or international non-proprietary name, strength and form—tablet, liquid, cream, inhaler—not only a foreign brand. Keep a photograph of the current prescription or package label for identification, but follow the applicable prescription rules and a qualified clinician or pharmacist's advice.

A delivery platform may show pharmacy products, yet availability, age checks, prescription handling and delivery time can differ. Do not delay urgent care while trying multiple carts. A pharmacy can help with medicines and products; it is not an emergency department and this article does not diagnose symptoms or recommend treatment.

Prepare the route before anyone is ill

Save one likely 24-hour branch near home and one near the route you use often, then recheck them when needed. Record the entrance, steps, parking or drop-off and whether the service window is different at night. If language matters, call rather than assuming the night shift has the same coverage as daytime.

For an immediate threat to life or serious unexpected illness, call 112 and ask for ambulance assistance. The correct late-night decision may be emergency care, not a longer search for a retail product.

Problem 07 · the apartment goes quiet

First identify the scale of the failure

ElectricityTelasi call centre +995 32 277 99 99WaterGWP hotline +995 32 293 11 11Immediate dangerLeave the danger area and call 112Do not assumeThe utility controls the building's internal system

Apartment, building or neighbourhood?

When the power or water stops, look for scale without touching equipment you do not understand. Is only one appliance affected? Is the apartment dark while the corridor remains lit? Are neighbouring buildings also out? The answer helps distinguish an internal apartment or building problem from a provider outage, but it is not an invitation to open electrical panels, gas equipment or a locked plant room.

Telasi's current site publishes planned and emergency electricity restrictions and lists its call centre as +995 32 277 99 99. Georgian Water and Power lists its Tbilisi hotline as +995 32 293 11 11 and publishes supply-interruption information. Save the account or subscriber number from a bill or landlord message; the provider can identify an address more reliably with it.

The landlord, host, building manager and utility have different responsibilities. A failed apartment boiler, locked water valve, lift outage or building pump may need the property contact rather than the network provider. Ask the landlord in advance which company supplies each service, where the account number is stored and who can enter the building after hours.

Danger changes the channel

If there is fire, smoke, a suspected gas leak, sparking, flooding near electricity or another immediate danger, move away and call 112. Do not remain inside searching for a customer-service page, and do not rely on an article for technical instructions. For a non-dangerous supply or billing issue, use the provider shown on the account and the building contact.

Keep a torch where it can be reached without phone light. A charged power bank preserves communications during a cut. Avoid lifts until normal service is confirmed. These are preparation measures; repairs belong to the provider, building staff or a qualified technician.

Problem 08 · urgent help and a route that changes

Save 112 before you need to explain where you are

Unified servicePolice, fire/rescue and ambulanceAvailability24 hours across GeorgiaOfficial appFree, location-aware and available in five languagesDo not useFor non-emergency information or a test call

The number is simple; the location may not be

Georgia's Ministry of Internal Affairs says 112 receives emergency calls nationwide 24 hours a day and connects police, fire/rescue and medical services. It says calls are free from fixed and mobile networks, including when a phone has no SIM card. Use it when immediate emergency assistance is needed, not for opening times, transport questions or a trial.

The official 112Georgia app is free for iOS and Android and supports Georgian, English, Russian, Armenian and Azerbaijani. The official service page highlights location identification as its main advantage. Install it and set permissions in advance; do not test an emergency function. The 112 site also explains separate SMS and video-call access for Deaf and hard-of-hearing users, with preregistration required for that service.

When calling, begin with what happened, which service seems needed and the most precise location you can give. Read the street and number from the map or building sign. Add the entrance, floor or visible landmark. Keep the callback phone available and follow the operator's instructions. If you move for safety, update the location.

Disruption can turn the return into a different route

Current UK travel advice says demonstrations in Tbilisi are mainly focused around Parliament on Rustaveli Avenue, can spread, and are particularly possible on Saturday evenings or significant dates. They may disrupt travel and tensions can escalate without warning. Check local media and current transport notices, avoid large gatherings if you are not participating, and choose another pickup point rather than trying to cross a blocked route.

The same guidance notes reports of drink spiking, recommends keeping control of drinks and says LGBT+ people and those perceived as supporters may face harassment or assault. It also advises ordinary precautions after dark, notes poor lighting and uneven pavements away from main roads, and recommends keeping the phone charged. These are current risk signals, not a claim that every street or venue is dangerous.

If someone feels threatened or needs police, fire or ambulance help, call 112. TbilisiExpats' WhatsApp, a hotel chat, a ride app and a social-media message are not emergency channels.

A Tuesday night and a Saturday night fail differently

There is no reliable city rule that Friday and Saturday simply stay open later. Weekend demand can keep more kitchens and drivers active, while also producing longer waits, higher ride quotes, queues and road pressure around events. On a quieter weeknight, the one nearby kitchen or late shop may close earlier. Monday closures can affect hospitality. The address and date remain more useful than the word “weekend.”

Public transport extensions are tied to an announcement, not to the social calendar. The current TTC examples are for Easter, a concert and exceptional public events. Do not assume a late Friday metro without a current notice. Conversely, if an official extension is announced, read which modes and routes it covers; a metro extension does not automatically extend every connecting bus.

Current travel advice gives Saturday evenings an additional route consideration because demonstrations around Parliament and Rustaveli can spread or disrupt travel. That is a reason to check the corridor, not to describe the whole centre as inaccessible. A good late plan stays willing to move the pickup or take another route.

Between roughly 03:00 and the first morning services, the network can be thinnest. An “all-night” venue or flight does not create an all-night city around it. If you must leave at that hour, prepare the ride, entrance and contact before the event. Waiting inside a staffed, permitted place can be safer and more practical than waiting beside a closed station, but confirm the venue or terminal policy rather than assuming you may remain.

After dark, the strongest plan is not the one with the most options. It is the one whose next handoff has already been checked.

Access after dark is a door-to-curb question

A daytime accessibility label cannot describe a night route. The pharmacy may be step-free while the pavement is blocked. The restaurant may have an accessible dining room while the late entrance uses another door. A ride category does not prove a vehicle can carry a particular chair or mobility device. A metro lift may be working while the final bus stop leaves an unlit, uneven approach.

Ask for measurable detail: number and height of steps, lift dimensions, door width, kerb position, accessible toilet route, seating, staff assistance, and where an adapted or larger vehicle can stop. Confirm the answer for the actual branch and hour. “Accessible” without a route is marketing, not planning.

Sensory and communication access also changes at night. Noise at the entrance can make a phone call difficult; bright or flashing environments can complicate waiting; a battery-dependent communication device needs a power plan. The 112 SMS and video service requires preregistration, so it belongs in advance preparation. A companion's presence should not be treated as a substitute for staff or emergency access.

Make the late-night plan before you need it

Save the exact destination, building entrance and a sensible pickup point while you still have signal and battery. Check TTC or the service page again at the time you travel; remembered hours and old map labels are not enough.

For food, groceries and pharmacies, enter the real address and complete the final cart or branch check before leaving. “Open” does not prove kitchen service, stock, walk-in access or delivery to your door.

Match an app car to its plate and driver, wait somewhere lit and easy to describe, and change the pickup rather than stepping into unsafe traffic. For an immediate police, fire/rescue or ambulance emergency in Georgia, call 112.

For tonight: charge the phone, keep a second payment method and give one trusted person the real destination when the situation warrants it.
