Tbilisi is better with people
A friendly, moderated space for international residents and internationally minded locals to exchange useful experience, ask better questions and make the city feel smaller.
Welcome to Tbilisi Expats
Moving countries creates dozens of small questions that do not belong in a government form. Which neighbourhood feels right after dark? Where can a new parent meet people? Is this apartment problem normal? Who wants coffee on Sunday?
The Tbilisi Expats Community is being designed for those human questions. Our website remains the place for researched guides. The community adds lived experience, conversation and connection. Members can help one another without turning personal opinions into official advice.
You do not need to be new, foreign or fluent in English. You do need to be constructive, respect privacy and understand that a community introduction is not a professional endorsement.
The platform decision
We chose a moderated WhatsApp Community for the launch. It is immediate, familiar to newcomers and allows focused groups beneath one community umbrella. A Facebook presence may later support public events and discovery, but it will not replace the website as our permanent knowledge base.
Proposed community circles
Introductions, first-week questions and practical orientation.
Area experiences, apartment-search questions and everyday housing tips—not unverified listings spam.
Peer conversation about operating in Georgia; regulated answers remain in sourced guides or professional consultations.
Member-friendly events, walks, culture and useful local discoveries.
Before joining
No unsolicited sales messages, member harvesting, referral spam or direct-message campaigns.
Do not repost messages, names, phone numbers or photographs outside the group without permission. WhatsApp group participants may be able to see one another’s phone numbers.
Say “this happened to me,” not “this is the law.” Link to a source for regulated claims and direct personal cases to qualified help.
No harassment, hate, discrimination, threats or personal attacks. Moderators may remove content or members to protect the space.
A member recommendation is not verification. Check identity, credentials, price, contract and payment before hiring, buying or meeting.
For urgent police, fire or medical assistance in Georgia, call 112. The community is not monitored as an emergency service.
Opening soon
Send us a WhatsApp message with your first name, whether you live in Georgia already, and which circle interests you. We will share the moderated invitation when the community opens.
